What is the best for our kids?
Nowadays, parents started to enroll their kids into different classes and programs. They are sending them to music, drawing, dancing, singing, speech, and language classes. Others also send them to right brain development, story telling, math stimulation, brain stimulation and many more. If you're a parent who had gone through above, please share your experience.
Because most parents don't know what's best for their kids, therefore, they will spend hundreds/thousands of ringgit on classes that they believe will help.
Personally, I think it's parents' role to observe and discover their kids' interest and talent. Therefore, it's not wrong to enroll kids into different programs. However, parents shall observe and participate in those programs. If their kids show no interest, or "talent", why waste the money and time. We shall explore together with the kids, and discover what's best for them.
Am a good example. My dad sent me to piano classes since 5 years old, and also my 2 brothers who were 8, and 9 years old. My brothers quit after 1-2 months. While I continued till finishing grade 8 in Form 4. Honestly, I was not a piano lover, and hate piano lessons, always forgot to cut finger nails and only practiced once a week before the lesson, even in grade 7-8. Very bad attitude. What did I gain? A good testimonial for scholarship application. That's it. I was more interested in Organ and violin.

Mother's guilt
Was doing corporate line since graduated, then moved into home based online business. Now, doing retail plus online business.
During corporate line, I still have a maid and daughter was still young. So, I didn't feel the guilt of coming back late, or not able to spend time with her. Then, while doing online biz at home, started to spend a lot of time with her. As a result, she was very attached to me, and of course loving me more than anything else. If you ask her how much she loves mommy, she will say, love her 100, while daddy only 10, and others are 1. LOL
However, now I had just started retail business at baby store and yet to get any promoter. Work is busy and tiring as it's a new start up and needs to work through weekends. While, my husband was not giving as much emotional or physical support that I needed. (sigh!!) At the same time, I felt guilty and sad for not able to spend time with daughter.
Gal, if you happen to read this when you're older. Mommy has no choice but to send you to daycare. Reason being, the shop wasn't suitable for young kids. You will be better and safer with day care.

Kindergardens in Puchong
My gal had attended and enjoyed 2 years Beacon house in 2010 and 2011. Next year, I would like to enroll her into Q dees or Realkids at Puchong. However, there are more than one Q dees and Realkids around Puchong area. So, I surveyed a few of them.
1) Q dees at Wawasan 3 - Very nice facility where the entire school was built nearby a playground/field around residential houses. They had indoor play ground, gymroom but the swimming pool was only half the size of Beacon house Puchong. More for water playing I guess. The principal Susan was very friendly and attentive. In term of the programme, very academic, and aiming to prepare kids for Chinese Primary school. Their intention is to get the year 6 students to learn standard 1 syllabus. Full day programme - till 6.30pm. Food? mostly ala carte like friend "Cantonese" style, single dish with rice. Fees - average around RM450-RM500 monthly inclusive of material and food. This depend on whether you sign up for additional English/Mandarin classes. Overall - satisfactory
Remarks: I was so impressed when the students of 4 year old stand up and greeted us when the principal opened the door. This didn't happen in Beacon.
2) Q dees at Kinrara BK4 - Facilities - Corner and extended intermediate double storey link house with a larger swimming pool - about Beacon house Puchong but out door. Programme - same for all Q dees but I didn't notice they have additional for English/Mandarin. Food - Very good. We saw they were serving fried chicken stripes, ABC soup, baked bean and rice for that afternoon. Very home cook food. Fees - cheaper than Q dees wawasanOverall - very homely, I was shared by my gf that the Principal Puan Hayati not so good. Anyway, this was a bit far, so I decided not to send to this school.
Remarks: There were ard 180 kids with 30 full day kids.
3) Fungates at Kinrara - Facilities - Corner and extended intermediate double storey SHOPLOT. There were ard 200 students studying there, and 80 full day kids. No swimming pool or gym room but has a science lab. Programme - OPEN Concept - all kids are studying together in a big hall, only divided the classes by half height divider. So, the kids could see and hear what other classes are doing. According to them, this was to train their concentration. Food - like Beacon House Puchong - rice with soup. Fees - can't remember but ard RM400. Overall - Personally, I felt the environment a bit "packed" and I was concerned about safely during fire breakout. Anyway, this was far too, so out of my lists.
4) Realkids at Puchong Jaya - Facilities - wonderful, and similar to Beacon house Puchong. Only with outdoor swimming pool. It was built on an empty land, with 8-10 classrooms plus music, gymroom and canteen. Programme - Play to learn, lots of fun but I heard from a parent whose kid was studying year 5&6, the teachers were very patience and supportive. Extra classes for Mandarin/Tamil and even Cambridge English. Fees - can't remember exactly but around RM400-450 (depending on the classes you enroll). Food - I was told by the parent, it was good. But not sure what they served. Overall - Good just that I still wonder whether Realkids programme will be suitable for Chinese primary school. Also, this was a bit far. Will visit Real kids Bdr Puteri later.
Remarks: Turnaround of teachers here was low. heard that teachers were given shares
Next, I would like to survey some schools at Bandar Puteri.
If your kids were from above kindergardens or those in Bdr Puteri, PLEASE SHARE your valuable comments here. So other parents like me would benefit.

2nd year at Beacon House Puchong
This is her 2nd year in Beacon House Puchong. Next year, we will move her to a more academic kindie to prepare her for Chinese primary school.
Beacon house has pretty good facilities and programme. My gal enjoyed her schooldays, and even wanted to go to school on weekends. She makes friends, and enjoyed the classes like computer, music, gym and swimming. Well, since it's a montessory schoool, therefore, it offers more activities and less homework. Besides, it emphasize more on English than other 2 languages. It's ok, she's only 4 this yeear . she will have plenty of time to pick up the languages.
We would like her to enjoy school, and learn with fun.
now, am looking for kindergarden around Kinrara BK5 area. Please comment if you have any recommendations. I heard Q-dees and fungate are good, will check them out.
