Beacon house at Bandar Puteri

Eduland was bought away by Beacon house in Jun 2009. Beacon house was well known for their primary school however, pre-school was something new in Malaysia.

Last Saturday 21st nov was Beacon house Bandar puteri (pre-school)open house. This time, we brought along BB to visit the school and got a chance to speak to current year 3 teacher personally. The year 3 teacher was very experienced, and she was very friendly and caring. After understanding the school program, we signed up for 6 months payment for BB. She will start her school in Jan as a year 3 student for 3 hours daily. Initially, we wanted to enroll her inot half day school till 1.30pm. However, the year 3 teacher didn't recommend that because Babies are easily tired and losing their concentration.

While waiting for my husband to settle the payment, my daughter has already made herself very comfortable at the school. She was running in and out of the classroom, and taking out all the stuff in the classroom. While, the rest of the older kids were so behaving and sitting around to play with teachers and parents. Oh,,, guess, my daughter's future teacher will need a lot of energy for her. : )

Really looking forward for her first day at school. will expect her to cry,,, but really eager to find out whether she will cry for days or weeks. hahahaha

R.e.a.l kids at Puchong Jaya

Through friend's recommendation, we visited a nursery at Puchong Jaya. It's located on the top of the hill. Not corner or double storey or shoplot. It's a building on its own.

When we visited the place last Saturday, it's the "school" parents-teacher day. It's the day where the parents met up with the teacher to talk about their kid's progress. The teachers were very friendly, and nice. The principle was a nice lady too. The "school" has the music class, computer room, swimming pool facilities. However, we found that the place is pretty old. A bit look like my old primary school in Sg. Besi, especially the toilet. It reminded me of the old and dark toilet of my primary school. : )

Then, the price is almost the same as Beacon house. Therefore, we tentatively have chosen Beacon house over this school. Also, the distance from my house to this "school" is at least 10min further than beacon house. Will see.

Nursery for BB

Hb and I are finding Yeng2 a school for next Jan 2010. We prefer to send her for half day nursery or playgroup to keep her occupy in the morning. This is because we noticed that yeng2 has been very lonely at home. At home, she has no one to play with, no relatives or siblings. While, the parents only could spend so little time with her after work and during weekends. "guilty". Besides that, she starts to learn things from us,,,mimik the way we speak, do the things we do. This is dangerous when she spends too much time with the maid. If you have an Indon maid, I guess you could imagine the things maid do. You won't want to see your daughter "copy" your maid. :)

So far, we surveyed few recommended nursery through friends. One came pretty impressive with sanitized rooms, attached toilet, indoor locked swimming pool and clean canteen. It's the old Eduland and now called Beaconhouse at Bandar Puteri, Puchong. Last Saturday, we managed to visit the "school", and obtain some information.

- the "school" is an independant building built within a residential area. It's 3 storeys high with 9 or more classrooms. There is a indoor swimming pool (size of 4 ping pong table), a canteen, 2 computer rooms and etc.
- the "school" caters for 3 to 6 years old. There are total of 9 classes in 2010, three (3)classes for 3yr and 4th, another 3 classes for 5th and 6th.
- for 3yr old, the school offers three types of classes. 8.45am to 11.45pm, 8.45am to 1.30pm, 7am to 6pm. once or alternate week of swimming classes. computer classes also available.
- 3yr old classes hve no work book and taught in English.
- 4yr and above will have work book and taught in English, Mandarin and Malay.

Why we choose this "school", it's clean and the course is pretty interactive. However, we are going to visit the "school" again this Saturday. It's their open day and we would like to talk to the teachers before deciding.

Bb is 26 months old

We have been observing our daughter for the past few weeks. From our observation, she likes companions, she likes to flip any books that she can find, and she likes to talk in her baby langauge. Besides that, we noticed that she is learning things very fast. She will pick up your actions pretty fast.

This is the time we worried about her learning the wrong things from us or the maid. Therefore, we're going to look for a half day care or nursery. So that she could utilise her morning time learning something useful, or correct.

This Saturday, hubby and I are planning to search around Puchong area for a suitable day care. Wish us luck!!

Sunburnt

Yeng2 had been with parents for few nights last week.

During her stay with my parents, she will have a chance to "discharge" her energy every evening. But, last 2 days, she was there around 4pm+ under the sun. Guess what!! She got sun burnt behind her neck, chest, above her buttock. Then, the skin got dried and itchy. Her skin got too itchy that she scratched till bleeded on all the sun burnt area.

OOOO,,, so sad to see that happened.

Lesson learnt.... BB complexion is very delicate. Please protect them from the sun and only allow them to go outdoor in the evening.
